The Albert Memorial Visitors' Centre
Kensington Gardens, London
A Princely Vision
The idea of creating the Albert Memorial Visitors Centre was conceived by MJDA's managing director, Mike Davies, and successfully presented to English Heritage and the Albert Memorial Trustees as a fully-researched and designed proposal. Research, design, production and installation were carried out by MJDA in just twelve weeks.
The exhibition was divided equally between the life and achievements of Prince Albert and the story of the Albert Memorial itself, including a changing display of individual pieces from the Memorial before and after restoration. The Centre won an NPI National Heritage Award and was visited by a total of 224,000 visitors from all over the world, many of who left their comments in the Visitors’ Book.
